ACCOMMODATION AND BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These accommodation and booking terms and conditions apply to all bookings and stays at Sauda Fjord Camping AS, hereinafter referred to as “Sauda Fjord Camping”, “we”, “us” or “the accommodation provider”.

The terms apply to stays in cabins, apartments, rooms and pitches at the campsite, unless otherwise expressly stated at the time of booking. Separate terms and rules may also apply to seasonal pitches.

By making a booking, the person making the booking confirms that these terms and conditions have been read, understood and accepted. The terms and conditions form part of the agreement between Sauda Fjord Camping AS and the person making the booking/the guest.

The terms apply regardless of whether the booking is made directly with Sauda Fjord Camping, via our website, by telephone, email, SMS, booking platform or another intermediary. When booking through a third party, additional terms and conditions from the relevant booking platform may also apply. In the event of any conflict, the terms applicable to the specific booking and the rules of the relevant booking channel shall apply to the extent permitted by mandatory law.

1. BOOKING AND FORMATION OF THE AGREEMENT

A booking becomes binding when it has been confirmed by Sauda Fjord Camping or when the booking has otherwise been registered and accepted in our booking system or through an external booking platform.

By making a booking, an agreement is entered into between the person making the booking and Sauda Fjord Camping AS for the rental of the relevant accommodation unit or campsite pitch for the period stated in the booking.

The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that all information provided when making the booking is correct, including:

name and contact details
number of persons
number of children and any age information
information about pets
vehicles and camping equipment
selected accommodation unit or campsite pitch
arrival and departure dates
any other information relevant to the booking

Incorrect or incomplete information may result in the booking having to be changed, and any additional costs may be charged to the person making the booking.

The person making the booking is responsible for the booking, payment and obligations arising from the agreement. If the booking is made on behalf of others, the person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that everyone covered by the booking is made aware of these terms and conditions.

A person may not make a booking on behalf of another individual or business without the necessary authority or consent.

When making a booking on behalf of a business, the person making the booking confirms that they have the authority to enter into the agreement on behalf of the business.

2. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PERSON MAKING THE BOOKING AND THE GUEST

The person making the booking and the guest are responsible for familiarising themselves with the information provided before and during the stay.

This includes, among other things:

the booking confirmation
these accommodation and booking terms and conditions
any house rules
information concerning check-in and check-out
information about the use of the accommodation unit or campsite pitch
safety and fire safety information
information provided by employees or through notices on the premises

Guests are responsible for complying with all applicable rules and instructions at Sauda Fjord Camping.

Lack of knowledge of the terms and conditions does not exempt the guest from responsibility when the terms have been made available before or in connection with the booking.

The person making the booking is responsible for themselves and for all persons using the accommodation unit or campsite pitch during the stay, including children, family members, friends, fellow travellers and any other persons whom the person making the booking allows onto the premises or gives access to the accommodation unit.

3. CHECK-IN

Check-in for cabins, rooms and apartments is from 16:00 to 22:00.

Check-in for the campsite is from 13:00.

If the guest expects to arrive outside the stated check-in hours, this must be agreed with Sauda Fjord Camping in advance.

Sauda Fjord Camping may require valid identification at check-in.

If the guest is unable to provide the required identification or cannot satisfactorily confirm the booking, check-in may be refused until the guest’s identity and booking have been sufficiently documented.

The guest is not entitled to check in earlier than agreed. Early check-in is only possible by prior agreement and where practically possible.

4. CHECK-OUT

Check-out for cabins, rooms and apartments is no later than 11:00.

Check-out from the campsite is no later than 13:00.

The guest must vacate the accommodation unit or campsite pitch by the agreed check-out time, unless otherwise agreed with Sauda Fjord Camping.

Late check-out without prior agreement may result in a fee. If late check-out causes additional work, delays preparation for the next guest or results in other documented costs, these costs may be charged to the guest.

At check-out, the guest must:

vacate the accommodation unit by the agreed time
take all personal belongings with them
dispose of their own waste at the designated location
clean up after themselves
return furniture and equipment to their original positions
wash dishes and put kitchen equipment back in place where required
follow any specific check-out instructions
close and lock doors and windows
switch off lights and electrical appliances where relevant
return or leave keys, access cards and other borrowed equipment at the designated location

At check-out, the guest must return the accommodation unit or campsite pitch in a safe, tidy and normally clean condition, taking into account the relevant accommodation unit and what is included in the booking.

5. GUEST’S RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ACCOMMODATION UNIT AND CAMPSITE PITCH

The guest must treat the accommodation unit, campsite pitch, buildings, furniture, equipment and other facilities with due care and in a responsible manner.

The accommodation unit or campsite pitch may only be used for its intended purpose.

The guest must not:

make alterations or modifications to buildings or installations
move or remove fixed fixtures or furnishings
dismantle furniture or equipment
use equipment for purposes other than those for which it is intended
use the accommodation unit for illegal activities
use the accommodation unit for commercial purposes without a written agreement
transfer or sublet the accommodation unit to others
allow others to take over the booking without the consent of Sauda Fjord Camping

The guest is responsible for ensuring that the accommodation unit is used in a manner that does not cause unnecessary wear, damage, danger or inconvenience to other guests or Sauda Fjord Camping.

6. NUMBER OF GUESTS AND OVERNIGHT STAYS

The accommodation unit may only be used by the number of persons stated and approved at the time of booking.

The approved capacity of the accommodation unit must not be exceeded.

If more persons than stated in the booking use or stay overnight in the accommodation unit, Sauda Fjord Camping may charge for additional persons according to the applicable prices.

In the event of a significant breach of the capacity limit or if the use results in a breach of safety requirements, Sauda Fjord Camping may require persons to leave the accommodation unit.

Guests may not, without prior agreement, move into another accommodation unit or use another campsite pitch than the one assigned.

7. CLEANING AND FINAL CLEANING

The guest is responsible for leaving the accommodation unit in a safe and normally tidy condition at check-out.

If final cleaning is included in the booking or purchased as an additional service, this does not exempt the guest from their responsibility to clean up after themselves.

Final cleaning normally covers cleaning resulting from ordinary use and normal check-out. It does not cover extraordinary cleaning resulting from unusual soiling, littering, spills, food residues, faeces, vomit, smoking, pet hair, soiling of furniture, walls, floors or other furnishings, or any other use requiring additional work.

The guest must, among other things:

remove their own waste
remove food and personal belongings
wash dishes after use
put kitchen equipment back in place
tidy the kitchen and common areas
remove visible spills and food residues
collect and dispose of their own waste as instructed
follow any specific check-out instructions

If the accommodation unit is left in a condition requiring extraordinary cleaning beyond what can normally be expected following an ordinary stay, Sauda Fjord Camping may charge the guest for the costs of the additional cleaning.

This may, for example, include:

extensive littering
food residues or spills that have been left behind
soiling of floors, walls or furniture
vomit, faeces or other biological contamination
unusually large amounts of dirt or mud
large quantities of sand, soil or other material
pet hair or soiling caused by animals
failure to tidy up
dishes that have not been dealt with
food waste or other waste left behind
the need for additional cleaning of textiles, mattresses or furniture
the need for disinfection or specialist cleaning

Additional cleaning may be charged based on the actual time spent, costs of external cleaning personnel, laundry, specialist cleaning and any other necessary costs.

Sauda Fjord Camping may document the need for additional cleaning through photographs, video, cleaning reports or other relevant documentation.

Payment of any fixed final cleaning fee does not exempt the guest from responsibility for extraordinary cleaning.

8. DAMAGE, LOSS AND DESTRUCTION

The guest is responsible for damage, loss or destruction affecting:

buildings
accommodation units
campsite pitches
furniture
furnishings
bed linen
towels
kitchen equipment
electronic equipment
keys
access cards
other equipment
common areas and facilities

The liability applies to damage caused intentionally or negligently by the guest or by persons for whom the guest is responsible.

The guest may also be liable for damage caused by persons whom the guest has invited onto the premises or given access to the accommodation unit.

Ordinary wear and tear resulting from normal and careful use is not considered damage.

If damage occurs, the guest must immediately inform Sauda Fjord Camping.

Failure to report damage does not exempt the guest from liability.

Sauda Fjord Camping may claim reimbursement for necessary and documented costs relating to repairs, replacement, cleaning or other restoration.

If an item cannot be repaired in a reasonable manner, the guest may be required to cover the necessary replacement cost, taking into account the item’s age, condition and other relevant circumstances.

The guest may also be charged for documented costs arising directly as a result of the damage, such as additional cleaning, laundry, repairs, transportation or other necessary measures.

9. LOSS OF KEYS, ACCESS CARDS AND EQUIPMENT

The guest is responsible for keys, access cards and other equipment provided during the stay.

In the event of loss or failure to return such items, the guest may be charged for necessary costs relating to:

replacement keys
replacement access cards
replacement of locks
reprogramming of access systems
emergency call-outs
other necessary security measures

If a lost key or access card results in the need to replace or modify a locking system, the guest may be held responsible for the documented costs resulting from this.

10. SMOKING AND USE OF OPEN FLAMES

Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are not permitted indoors in cabins, apartments or rooms.

The use of open flames, candles, grills or other fire-hazardous equipment indoors is also prohibited unless expressly permitted and the equipment is intended for such use.

The use of grills, fires and other open flames outdoors is only permitted in designated areas where this is allowed and must always be carried out safely and in accordance with applicable fire safety regulations.

If indoor smoking or other improper use of fire results in the need for additional cleaning, odour removal, textile cleaning, ventilation cleaning or other measures, the guest may be charged for the necessary costs.

If a fire alarm is triggered as a result of the guest’s actions or negligence, the guest may be held responsible for any documented costs incurred by Sauda Fjord Camping.

11. NON-SMOKING ACCOMMODATION UNITS

All accommodation units are non-smoking unless otherwise expressly stated.

Smoking in a non-smoking accommodation unit constitutes a breach of these terms and conditions.

In the event of a breach, Sauda Fjord Camping may charge for necessary additional cleaning, odour removal and other documented costs.

If the accommodation unit cannot be rented to the next guest without additional measures as a result of smoking, or must be taken out of service for a period, Sauda Fjord Camping may claim compensation for documented direct losses to the extent permitted by applicable law.

12. DOGS AND OTHER PETS

Dogs are only permitted in accommodation units where this has been expressly approved.

Dogs are not permitted in rooms where pets are not allowed or in other areas where animals are prohibited.

Dogs must be registered at the time of booking or before arrival.

Any fee for a dog or other approved pet is charged in addition to the ordinary price.

The guest is responsible for the animal throughout the entire stay.

The following rules apply:

Dogs must not lie in beds or on sofas.
Dogs must be kept under control.
Dog waste must be picked up immediately and disposed of at the designated location.
Dogs must not cause unnecessary disturbance to other guests.
Dogs must not be left alone if this creates a risk of damage, noise or other inconvenience.
Animals must not enter common areas where animals are not permitted.
The guest is responsible for any damage or extraordinary cleaning caused by the animal.

If an animal causes extraordinary cleaning, odour, damage or other costs, the guest may be charged for necessary and documented costs in addition to any ordinary pet fee.

13. HOUSE RULES AND CONSIDERATION FOR OTHER GUESTS

Guests must act considerately and respect other guests, employees, neighbours and the surrounding area.

Unnecessary noise, disturbances, loud music, parties or other disruptive activities are not permitted.

Quiet hours must be observed in accordance with applicable house rules and stated times.

Guests must follow instructions from employees when necessary to ensure safety, peace and order or the operation of the business.

Threatening, aggressive or otherwise offensive behaviour towards employees or other guests is not permitted.

Threats, violence, harassment, vandalism or other serious unacceptable behaviour may result in the immediate termination of the stay.

14. PARTIES AND EVENTS

Accommodation units and campsite pitches may not be used for parties, events or gatherings that cause significant noise or inconvenience to other guests without prior approval from Sauda Fjord Camping.

Guests may not invite a larger number of people to the accommodation unit than permitted by the booking or agreed with Sauda Fjord Camping.

Sauda Fjord Camping may terminate the stay if a guest or group breaches the house rules, disturbs other guests or otherwise uses the accommodation unit or premises in an irresponsible manner.

15. FIRE SAFETY AND SECURITY

Guests must familiarise themselves with escape routes, fire extinguishing equipment and any fire safety instructions.

Escape routes, emergency exits and access routes for emergency vehicles must always be kept clear.

Fire alarms, smoke detectors and other safety equipment must not be disconnected, covered or tampered with.

Breaches of fire safety rules may result in the guest being required to leave the accommodation unit or premises.

The guest may be held responsible for costs resulting from negligent or intentional actions in breach of fire safety rules.

16. CAMPSITE

Guests staying at the campsite must use their assigned pitch and follow instructions from Sauda Fjord Camping.

Caravans, motorhomes, tents, vehicles and other equipment must be placed within the assigned area and in a manner that does not obstruct traffic, escape routes or other guests.

The guest is responsible for keeping their pitch tidy and free of waste.

Waste must be sorted and disposed of at the designated location.

Permanent or significant alterations to the campsite pitch are not permitted without written consent.

This includes, among other things, digging, installing permanent structures, fences, decking or other measures that alter the area.

Guests must comply with the applicable campsite house rules.

Separate terms apply to seasonal pitches in addition to these provisions.

17. PARKING AND VEHICLES

Vehicles must be parked in designated or assigned areas.

Vehicles must not be parked in a way that obstructs other guests, emergency vehicles, operations or access.

The guest is responsible for providing correct information about vehicles and camping equipment when booking if this affects the choice of pitch.

Sauda Fjord Camping may assign a different pitch if the size of the vehicle, its positioning or other use makes this necessary.

Vehicles parked in violation of rules or instructions may be required to be moved.

18. DEFECTS OR SHORTCOMINGS IN THE ACCOMMODATION OR STAY

If the guest discovers a defect or deficiency in the accommodation unit or campsite pitch, this must be reported to Sauda Fjord Camping as soon as possible.

The guest must give Sauda Fjord Camping a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where possible, rectify the issue during the stay.

Claims relating to matters that could have been rectified during the stay but were not reported within a reasonable time may be reduced or lapse to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Sauda Fjord Camping will make every reasonable effort to rectify defects and deficiencies as quickly as practically possible.

19. CHANGES TO BOOKINGS

Changes to a booking must be approved by Sauda Fjord Camping.

Changes may result in price adjustments or other costs.

Sauda Fjord Camping cannot guarantee that a requested change can be accommodated.

Changing accommodation units or campsite pitches is only possible by agreement.

20. CANCELLATION

Cancellation may be made free of charge no later than 7 days before the arrival date at 12:00 noon, unless different terms are stated in the booking.

For cancellations made after this deadline, or in the event of a no-show, the full stay may be charged in accordance with the terms applicable to the booking.

If the guest chooses to end the stay earlier than agreed, no refund will normally be provided for the remaining part of the stay.

Any specific cancellation terms stated at the time of booking shall take precedence over these standard terms to the extent agreed.

21. THE ACCOMMODATION PROVIDER’S RIGHT TO TERMINATE THE STAY

Sauda Fjord Camping may terminate the guest’s stay with immediate effect if the guest:

materially breaches these terms and conditions
breaches the house rules
causes serious or repeated disturbances
puts other guests or employees at risk
behaves in a threatening or violent manner
commits vandalism
uses the accommodation unit for illegal activities
significantly exceeds the agreed capacity
smokes in a non-smoking accommodation unit
causes serious damage or creates a serious risk of damage
fails to pay agreed costs
refuses to follow reasonable and necessary instructions from Sauda Fjord Camping

In the event of serious breaches, the guest may be required to leave the premises immediately.

If the stay is terminated due to the guest’s own breach of the terms and conditions, the guest will normally not be entitled to a refund of amounts already paid.

Sauda Fjord Camping may also claim compensation for documented costs and losses resulting from the guest’s breach of the agreement, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

22. ADDITIONAL FEES AND COSTS

Sauda Fjord Camping may charge for additional costs resulting from the guest’s use of the accommodation unit or campsite pitch beyond what is included in the original booking.

This may include:

extraordinary cleaning
damage to buildings or furnishings
lost or damaged keys
lost access cards
damage to or loss of equipment
smoking in a non-smoking accommodation unit
damage or additional cleaning caused by animals
abnormal soiling
removal of waste left behind in violation of the rules
costs resulting from late check-out
costs resulting from unauthorised use of the accommodation unit
costs resulting from breaches of fire safety rules
costs resulting from negligent or intentional damage
other necessary and documented costs directly caused by the guest

The costs shall, as far as possible, be documented.

Sauda Fjord Camping may issue a separate invoice to the person who made the booking after the stay.

If there is an unpaid invoice or other outstanding payment, Sauda Fjord Camping may demand payment in accordance with the applicable payment terms.

23. PAYMENT

All prices and additional charges are stated in the booking or applicable price list.

The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring that the stay and any additional services are paid by the agreed deadline.

Failure to pay may result in the booking being cancelled or the stay being unable to proceed.

In the event of late payment, interest, fees and other costs may be charged in accordance with applicable rules.

24. PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings during the stay.

Sauda Fjord Camping recommends that valuables are stored securely.

Lost property will be stored where practically possible and may be returned by agreement.

Costs associated with returning lost property may be charged to the guest.

Sauda Fjord Camping is not responsible for loss of or damage to the guest’s belongings beyond what follows from mandatory legal provisions.

25. THE ACCOMMODATION PROVIDER’S LIABILITY

Sauda Fjord Camping shall provide the agreed accommodation unit or campsite pitch in accordance with the booking.

We shall not be held liable for circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including government orders, natural events, extreme weather, fire, strikes, lockouts, technical operational disruptions, power outages, water outages or other extraordinary events that make it impossible or disproportionately difficult to fulfil the agreement.

If such circumstances mean that the agreement cannot be fulfilled, Sauda Fjord Camping may terminate or modify the agreement to the extent necessary and permitted by applicable law.

Sauda Fjord Camping is not responsible for circumstances caused by third parties, other guests or circumstances caused by the guest themselves.

26. FACILITIES AND SERVICES

Available facilities and services may vary depending on the season, weather, maintenance, capacity and other operational circumstances.

Sauda Fjord Camping may temporarily close or restrict access to facilities if necessary due to safety, maintenance, weather conditions or other operational reasons.

This does not automatically entitle the guest to a price reduction or refund unless otherwise provided by applicable law or the specific booking.

27. CHILDREN AND MINORS

Parents or guardians are responsible for children and minors during the stay.

Children must not be left without necessary supervision in areas or during activities where there may be a risk of injury.

Parents or guardians are responsible for ensuring that children follow applicable rules and safety instructions.

28. USE OF FACILITIES AND ACTIVITIES

Use of the playground, water trampoline, inflatable jumping pillow, football field, boat rental and other facilities is at the guest’s own risk, subject to the limitations imposed by applicable law.

Guests must follow posted rules and instructions.

Parents or guardians are responsible for assessing children’s abilities and their need for supervision.

Sauda Fjord Camping may close or restrict the use of facilities if weather conditions, safety considerations or other circumstances so require.

29. COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTES

Any complaints should first be raised with Sauda Fjord Camping during the stay, allowing us an opportunity to investigate and rectify the matter.

Complaints should be submitted within a reasonable time after the issue was discovered.

The parties shall seek to resolve any disagreements through dialogue.

The agreement is governed by Norwegian law.

Any disputes shall be dealt with by Norwegian courts in accordance with the applicable rules concerning jurisdiction.

Consumers retain any mandatory rights provided by Norwegian law.

30. ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By completing a booking with Sauda Fjord Camping AS, the person making the booking confirms that they:

have read and understood these terms and conditions
accept the terms and conditions
are responsible for the information provided when making the booking
are responsible for payment of the booking
are responsible for ensuring that other guests in their party are made aware of the terms and conditions
accept that breaches of the terms and conditions may result in additional costs, termination of the stay and, where applicable, claims for compensation for documented losses and costs in accordance with applicable law

These terms and conditions apply to all bookings of cabins, apartments, rooms and campsite pitches at Sauda Fjord Camping AS.

By making a booking, the guest also confirms that they have read and accepted the applicable house rules for the premises.
